Arsenal to make a £51 million bid for a striker: Italian Media

After one of the most exciting seasons in the Premier League, top clubs are now getting ready to make some big changes to their squad and are trying to start their summer business even before the start of the transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was criticized in the past for not spending enough cash in the transfer market but the manager seemed to have learnt his lesson and has already looked at breaking the transfer record for the club.

Juventus star forward Alvaro Morata has been on the radar of a number of top European and English clubs this season and recent reports from Corriere dello Sport suggest that the London franchise have already made a  £51 million for the Spanish starlet.

The 23-year old moved to Italy from Real Madrid a couple of years ago and has been superb for the Juventus side this season, scoring 11 goals and picking up another 10 assists in the domestic league.

it is understood that the Spanish giants, who have a buy-back clause in Morata’s contract with Juventus, are ready to make a swoop and pay for him this summer.

However, it was also revealed that Real Madrid are planning to sell him straight away to the highest bidder and are trying to make a quick profit for the sale of the Spanish youngster.

Arsenal, who are now without the services of Danny Welbeck at least till the turn of the year are desperate to get their man and it comes as no surprise that Wenger is ready to break the bank for Morata.

The Spaniard will surely fit into the playing style at the Emirates but if paid, the £51 million price tag will be a new record for the club and will add plenty of pressure to perform on the 23-year old.

At the moment, though, Morata is firmly a player in Serie A and no deal has yet been officially announced by any of the parties.
