Premier League giants Arsenal FC are planning to place an audacious bid for Paris Saint-Germain superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the transfer deadline day, according to Evening Standard. Arsenal who has remained completely dormant for the entire transfer window has made just one signing so far, Petr Cech from for just 10 million pounds.
Earlier today we had reported that Arsene Wenger was at Paris last night and it was believed that Wenger is there to raid PSG for a double swoop striker Edinson Cavani and midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
But now it is believed that the Ligue 1 champions are not ready to give up on Cavani who is one of their key players upfronts. Instead the club might offer aged star Zlatan Ibrahimovic who have just a year left in his contract.
Zlatan will turn 34 this year and it is highly unlikely that he will continue to play in top leagues after this season. So for PSG selling Zlatan is a much more feasible idea than letting go Edinson Cavani who could be their main front man in future.
For Arsenal, it can be a good deal as a striker like Zlatan can be an asset for any team even if it is for just a year. Zlatan will be available for a much cheaper price and in this later hour of the deadline day nothing can be better than signing Zlatan from PSG for the Gunners.
Arsenal are looking for a striker since a long time and they had Karim Benzema on their radar for quite some time. But after the Frenchman had committed his future to Real Madrid, Wenger shifted his focus to Edinson Cavani.
It will be interesting to see if Zlatan actually leaves the club this season and makes his debut in Premier League at the twilight of his career. He was linked with Manchester United and Liverpool in this transfer window, but the player had rubbished such rumours.
