Arsenal beat Hull City in the 3rd round of the FA Cup on Sunday and their star man Alexis Sanchez was on fire again for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has been constantly talking about the prospect of having to rest Sanchez during the course of season. For that he needs an able signing in the January Transfer Window to do so.
We bring you all the latest Arsenal Transfer News and Rumors from around the world in our Arsenal Transfer Round-Up section, with few actually might happen for Arsenal.
Arsenal’s chase for Winston Reid gets hotter
Arsenal’s interest in Winston Reid is a known fact for a while now. Arsenal scouts have seen the £4 Million rated defender in every game since November and a January bid was on the cards.
It all got more interesting today, when West Ham Manager Sam Allardyce admitted that he can not stop the defender from moving and Reid will sign any extension with West Ham.
This must be the sign for Arsenal to make their move and wrap up the deal as soon as possible and sort out their defensive fragility.
Arsenal’s pursuit of a stable Goal Keeper continues
On New Year ’s Day when Southampton’s second goal went in and Szczęsny was on the floor having his share of the water, it all felt weird and since then Wojciech Szczęsny has been fined for his behaviour.
This has promoted Arsenal to look for a more stable and long term replacement for their recent Goal Keeping woes. Most suitable candidate that comes to mind is Chelsea’s Peter Cech. Valued at £7 Million, Cech could bring the much needed assurance at the back for Arsenal.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, however, have maintained a strong stance on Peter Cech and claimed that “He is not leaving any time soon”. Chelsea have let Mark Schwarzer join Leicester City, this leave Courteous and Cech as the Goal Keeping options for Chelsea. This might come as the stumbling block for Arsenal in their pursuit of Peter Cech.
Arsenal continue to monitor the trio of Mid-Field options
Arsenal have been in need of a solid Mid-Filed player and in recent weeks Morgan Schneiderlin, William Carvalho and Mario Suarez have been the most linked players to Arsenal.
William Carvalho is nearing a switch to Arsenal. As per the reports in Portugal, Arsenal are ready with a £22.5 Million offer for the talented Portuguese Defensive mid-field player. Arsenal will test Sporting Lisbon’s resolves this January with a massive bid.
Arsenal missed on the opportunity to sign the talented player last summer due to a third party involvement but this season, it looks that a move can be finalised for the player and Wenger seems keen in bringing the 22 years mid-field player to Emirates.
Morgan Schneiderlin is perhaps the most suited player Wenger can fall upon. Schneiderlin’s vital Premier League experience and success makes him the out-and-out favourite to join Arsenal. Earlier today, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour urged Arsene Wenger to sign the Frenchman
Ray Parlour was taking to talksport and he said: “Morgan Schneiderlin – I’d definitely sign him,”
“He would be perfect for my old team Arsenal, absolutely, whether you can get him or not [I don’t know] because Southampton are in a very good position at the moment, they don’t want to let any of their players go at least until the end of the season.”
Schneiderlin on the other hand has come out and stated today about his chances of seeing the season through with Southampton and seeing what future holds for him the summer. Schneiderlin’s comments will be irrelevant if Arsenal and Southampton reach to an agreement over a possible £27 Million move for the mid-fielder.
Mario Suarez from Atletcio Madrid has been tipped to sign for Arsenal in coming days, As per Marca. The talented mid-field player has seen his stocks go down as Koke led mid field of Atletico Madrid has a place on the bench for Mario Suarez. Arsenal lead the chase for Suarez and an imminent bid is expected in coming few days.
Loic Perrin talks up his Arsenal move
St. Ettiene defender Loic Perrin came out today and talked about the personal contacts Arsenal have made for him. Both clubs stayed quiet on the statement but Perrin’s statement does give Arsenal a “Come and Get Me Plea” which Arsenal must act on quickly or else Perrin’s suitors might prize him away from St. Ettiene.
