Arsene Wenger has not been the luckiest man this summer.
He has missed out on most of his top transfer targets in Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain and the injuries to key players has seen an increase in the transfer burden.
The manager is now in the market for a defender along with a top class striker and with just a week left for the start of the Premier League, Wenger is now not too far away from panic mode.
He will need some more additions to his squad to keep his place at the top of the table and has been linked with a number of players even today.
So let’s take a look at such stories coming out of the Emirates today:
Mustafi or Evans to complete deal by weekend:
After the recent injury to Gabriel, the manager will now have to act fast and it is reported that he might finish a deal for a transfer target before the start of the Premier League.
The likes of Shkordan Mustafi from Valencia and Jonny Evans from West Brom are the two priority targets and it is now reported that a deal for either will be completed before Arsenal face Liverpool in their first game in the new season of the Premier League.
Arsenal to miss out on Isco:
Arsenal, as already mentioned, are in the transfer market for an attacker and Real Madrid’s out of favor attacker Isco was subject to a transfer link with the Gunners.
But reports today have revealed that the 22-year old is now nearing a move to AC Milan who are ready to meet his £37million price tag in the coming days leaving Arsenal with one less option in the transfer window.
Arsenal also misses out on Jese Rodriguez:
Another attacking target for Arsenal recently, Jese Rodriguez is also set to elude the grasp of the Gunners with reports suggesting that he has completed a deal away from Real Madrid.
It is officially revealed that French champions PSG have completed the signing of the 23-year-old on a £21m deal for four years and it was reported that Real failed to increase a buy-back clause in his contract.
Lukas Klostermann the new bloke on Arsenal’s radar:
Arsenal’s defensive woes have seen the club scout all around Europe for an able replacement and it is understood that German international Lukas Klostermann is now a target for the Gunners.
The 20-year old is currently with the German national side in Brazil for the Olympics and is attracting interests from a lot of clubs around Europe. However, he is only expected to be an understudy a the Emirates with Hector Bellerin a strong contender for the right-back place in Arsenal’s squad next season.
Arsenal’s deal for Lacazette now cold due to injury concerns:
Arsenal are in search of a striker who can lead the side right from the first game in the league next season but it is now revealed that one of their top transfer targets will not provide them with that.
Alexandre Lacazette, the Lyon star, picked up an injury in the recent friendly against PSG and is set to be out for at least a month leaving Arsenal with hardly any chance of procuring his signature in the coming days.
Giroud in part deal for Mauro Icardi:
The Gunners are now desperate for the signature of a star forward and are taking drastic measures for the signature of one this summer.
After failing in landing Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi with a move earlier this season, Wenger is ready to offer star French forward Olivier Giroud + £29.77m for the Argentine striker to take him to the Emirates this summer. It is to be seen if the offer is enough for the Italian side to let go off the player this summer.
Andemola Lookman now on Arsenal radar:
The 19-year old England wonderkid is the talk of the town this summer and is linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs this summer.
However, it is understood that the Charlton striker will cost around £2m and that Arsenal and Liverpool are front runners for his signature this summer.
