Arsenal are set to face Swansea City this weekend at the Emirates Stadium as they look to continue their momentum with a chance to top the Premier League table if other results go their way.
The Gunners go into this match with a tag of favorites as they are currently on a five-game winning streak in Premier League and have looked very dominant with the ball and carving out chances in the final third. Swansea City, on the other hand, has managed a mere 4 points from the first seven league games.
Arsenal, who have managed just one point in their opening two games, has managed to turn the tables around quickly as they are currently third in the table with 16 points from 7 games and are only 2 points away from becoming league leaders. Manchester City currently lead the league with 18 points from their 7 games bu they face a tough team in Everton this weekend.
The Gunners have improved tremendously after a poor start to the season as Iwobi has been the find of the season with his consistent performance week in week out for the club. Arsenal would like to tighten their grip on the league with important three points against an out-of-form Swansea City.
Team News:
Arsenal
Arsenal has not had many injury setbacks off late. However, Mesut Ozil could be a doubt for the clash as he might not start the game. Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey are ruled out of the game as they are still trying to reach their full fitness. Long-term absentees Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck will not be available for Wenger as heads into the clash.
Swansea City
The visitors will go into the clash under new manager Bob Bradley as they look to end their losing streak. The Swans could miss Fernando Llorente (rib), Jefferson Montero (ankle) who are doubtful for the clash while Nathan Dyer has been ruled out of the game.
What did the managers say?
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: “Last year we had a very negative experience with Swansea.
”We have a good opportunity to show that we have learned from that and that we are capable of dealing with this type of opponent.
“And to show that we can deal with the kind of fixtures where we are the favorites. We were not always capable of doing that last season and we want to show that we have moved forward.”
New Swansea manager Bob Bradley: “I’ve had the chance to coach against some big names – Capello, del Bosque – but Wenger is right up there with top managers.
“And to be at a club for 20 years where the football is such a reflection of the man is fantastic.
“Guardiola was speaking about Cruyff last week and his influence more than trophies, and if you look at what happened over 20 years at Arsenal it’s the same.”
