It was supposed to be the day when Arsenal fans would have liked to celebrate their return to the Top 4 of the Premier League, instead the dissapointment of a poor performance against Leicester and injury scares to Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey would dominate the headlines. Arsenal defeated Leicester 2-1 but at the cost of Sanchez and Ramsey, who were taken off during the game.

Manager Arsene Wenger is particularly worried about Ramsey’s condition, who only lasted 7 minutes on the pitch after coming on as a sub for Theo Walcott. Wenger sounded clueless and dissapointed about Ramsey’s injury. Speaking to Talksport Wenger sai: “It’s the disappointment of the night. To see him come off after seven minutes is very difficult.

Wenger went on to laud Ramsey’s abilities and how his energy and vision from the midfield will be key for Arsenal’s season. Wenger did however gave a worrying answer to Ramsey’s recurrrance of his muscle injury which threatens to keep the Irishman out of the game for another lengthy spell.

Arsene Wenger said:

“I don’t know how bad it is. He’s not overplayed. Since he’s had these problems I’ve been more cautious.

“But it doesn’t look good. He had a recurrence a few times, it’s difficult to know why…it’s worrying because it is a muscular injury but the fact he had to stop straight away is not a good sign.”

Arsene Wenger however, did highlight the possibility of preventing the extent of Alexis Sanchez’s injury but Sanchez denied. Sanchez was knocjed down by the former Gunner Matthew Upson and Wenger was thinking to take him off at Half-Time but the Chilean persisted and wanted to play on. Sanchez’s decision seemed to have backfired on him and Arsenal as he was brought off with 20 minutes remaining in the game.

Arsenal's injury curse strike again, Two star players maybe sidelined 1

Alexis Sanchez later took to twitter to express his views on the injury he sustained in the game and the reason for it. His Twitter post would give Arsenal fans some sleepless nights as he sounded worried about the spell he faces out of the game again. Sanchez recently came back from a hamstring injury and this was Sanchez’s first game back after missing 3 matches for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger has assured the fans that Sanchez does not have a bad knock, but could not comment if the Chilean would face time away from the game. Arsenal fans would hope Sanchez could be fit in time for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League and Champions League clashes.
