Wenger given huge boost ahead of the clash against Southampton this weekend 1

After successfully completing the signing two star European players, Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger will be hoping to star his Premier League campaign after the international game with a bang.

The Gunners welcome the Saints this weekend in a crunch game as both sides will look to take maximum points from the game.

Arsenal have taken 4 points from the first two games as they failed to take a single point from their opening fixture against Liverpool.

That game also came with some bad news as star players Alex Iwobi and Aaron Ramsey limped off the pitch halfway through the game only to compound the injury problems at the club.

However, ahead of the game this weekend, Wenger has been given a boost as Nigerian international Alex Iwobi is declared fit enough to start the game.

He revealed the same in a tweet from his official account:

The 20-year old is one of the brightest youngsters in the Premier League and made an instant impact at the Emirates in the debut season.

In 13 games that he got under Wenger in the previous season Iwobi managed to impress the fans also scoring two goals and making a number of contributions to lift the side to the second spot.

He started the first game of the season against the Reds, mainly due to injuries to star players and is expected to play a decent role in the squad this season.

Alex-Iwobi

With the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain along with the new signing Lucas Perez will all be in contention for a start against the Saints and Iwobi may have to make do with a spot on the bench.

At 20, he has already made himself a headache for Wenger during team selections and has shown signs that he can become a star player in years to come.

He will hope that he can have an impact from the bench on the night and help Arsenal secure all three points from the game.

Do you think Iwobi should start for Arsenal given that he is now fit?
