Aston Villa’s £12 million bid for Ghana international Jordan Ayew has been accepted by Ligue 1 side FC Lorient according to Sky Sports. The Ghana forward is expected to arrive in Birmingham in the next 24 hours to discuss personal terms and will undergo medical at Villa Park.
Jordan Ayew will be replacing Belgian Striker Christian Benteke who left Aston Villa for Liverpool earlier this week for £32.5 million. Jordan is set to follow his elder brother Andre Ayew’s footsteps who joined Swansea City on a free transfer as his contract expired at Marseille.
We can see both the Ayew brothers in Premier League this season.
23 year old Jordan Ayew has spent just one season with Lorient after leaving Marseille, scoring 12 goals in Ligue 1 for Les Merlus and helped the side to avoid relegation from Ligue 1. The Marseille youth product has 28 international caps for Ghana national team and scored 8 goals.
The young striker had won Coupe de la Ligue three times with Marseille in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He also won Trophee des Champions twice in 2010 and 2011.
Jordan had 147 appearances for Marseille before joining Lorient and scored 22 goals for the Ligue 1 giants. Aston Villa have seen their two big stars leaving Villa Park this eason with Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph and the arrival of the Ghana star will bring much joy to fans.
