Antonio Lopez Habas might not be seen in action with Athletico De Kolkata (ATK) in the Indian Super League next season. It has been learnt that the Spanish coach has asked for an astronomical demand for the next season from the ATK officials. And the amount is nearly Rs six crores for a three-month stint in the League. FC Goa’s legendary Brazilian coach Zico earns Rs six crore from his franchise team. But according to an ATK official they are not willing to increase the salary of the Spanish coach to that amount despite the fact that under this coach ATK has been a champion in the ISL once and has been runners-up in the last season.
Habas is reportedly getting nearly Rs three crores from ATK. The Kolkata franchise officials argue the point that considering the sellability of coach Habas is not at all comparable to Zico. So according to ATK officials, Habas does not deserve the amount Zico gets from FC Goa. The ATK officials feel that a huge financial offer from FC Pune City and Mumbai City FC might have instigated Spanish coach to start bartering with ATK.
