Joao Felix, the 19 year old Portuguese sensation is brought for a club record fee for £113 million by Atletico Madrid making him the fifth most expensive signing ever in history. He has signed a six year contract with the club.

The La liga giants have beaten all the top european clubs to the signing by paying extra £5 million than his release clause of £108 million to Portuguese Club SL Benfica. With Antoine Griezmann announcing his departure from the Madrid based club, a big signing was due, and what better than Felix, who had an amazing season in Europe last season and is only 19 years old.

Felix made 43 appearances last campaign scoring 20 goals while also earning his first call up to the national side, representing Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.

Joao Felix has become the most expensive Portuguese signing ever beating his country man Cristiano Ronaldo .

Atletico Madrid have also agreed terms with FC Porto for the £18 million signing of centre back Felipe.

30 year old, Felipe has been a constant fit at the back for Porto for 3 years. He comes to Atletico after the exit of their talisman defender Diego Godin.

However, Felipe says he won’t follow the steps of Godin and will make his own name.

“Godin is Godin, he’s a great player and he’s made a great story,” Felipe said of Godin

I’m here to make my story. I want to play a great role, I know the club is huge.“I really wanted to come in. I have very high expectations of having a good season.

Hector Herrera is  Atletico’s latest signing. He comes to the Wanda Metropolitana as a free signing. The Mexican midfielder was a free agent after his contract expired with F.C Porto on 30th June. Herrera refused to join the national side in their Gold Cup venture this year to sort out his club career. In total, Herrera played a total six seasons in Portugal, making 245 appearances, scoring 35 goals and laying 35 assists.

Atletico have also signed Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid in a £30 million deal, announced two weeks ago.
