Atletico Madrid who are banned from making transfers until 2018 have recognised French league youngster Tomas Lemar as their possible replacement for Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann is wanted by English giants Manchester United and could be possibly leaving Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman indicated at a possible move to Old Trafford when he revealed that he regularly questions Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba about life at Manchester. However, keeping in mind Atletico’s transfer ban the club is all set to challenge Fifa’s ruling to bring Tomas Lemar to the Vicente Calderon. If Griezmann moves out of Atletico, they will need somebody to replace the Frenchman’s capabilities up at the front.
The 21-year-old Tomas Lemar has proved his metal this season by playing some amazing football in the champions league where he scored against spurs forcing them to a group stage exit. The youngster has scored seven times so far in all competitions this season and is thus wanted by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid. The player is also wanted by German heavyweight Bayern Munich but he seems to prefer Atletico to Bayern. Monaco, however, has no intention of selling their star player this winter but the player is reported to be fancying a move to Spain.
On the other hand, if Griezmann moves to Manchester United, Jose Mourinho would be adding another firepower to his attacking line-up. United need some changes in their squad in order to keep up with the top 4 placed teams this season. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has already been into controversies questioning the mentalities of Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw this season and thinks that his squad needs some transformation. United are currently placed 6th in the league table with 19 points from 12 games.
