Atletico President Delivers Huge Update On Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa, Antoine Griezmann And Trolls Manchester United 1

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has ruled out signing former players Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa.

The Premier League duo have been linked with a move away from their respective clubs due to different reasons.

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola and has seen new signing Gabriel Jesus getting the nod ahead of him. The Brazil international has started in front of the goal in last two matches and has scored thrice including the injury-time winner against Swansea City on Sunday and it is highly unlikely that Aguero will find a place in the starting eleven soon. However, if he is fancying his chances of returning to his former club, he should drop it straightaway as they are not willing to sign back the striker who left for City on bad terms back in 2011.

Cerezo told Spanish radio station Cadena COPE: “If he had left in a normal and cordial manner then there would have been no problem, but I don’t know what happened to him.”

“He left on very bad terms rather than as a hero.”

Atletico Madrid have quashed rumours they are ready to bid for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero

Chelsea star Diego Costa is also linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after a bust-up with Antonio Conte last month. The Spain international reportedly received a lucrative deal from China but Cereo believes the Premier League will not sell the striker who has scored 15 goals in the league so far.

Cerezo added: “He is at a great club.

“They say he is going to China, but I don’t see Chelsea letting him go.”

Meanwhile, the Atleti president has labelled Manchester United a small club before saying their target Antoine Griemann will remain at Vicente Calderon for a long time.

The France international has been heavily linked with the Red Devils with some reports even suggesting that the English outfit has agreed personal terms with the striker and are waiting for summer to complete the sensational signing but Cerezo has ruled out any such possibility.

“Manchester United?” Cerezo said when asked about Griezmann’s potential exit by reporters.

“Small team.

“I believe in the contracts that people sign, that goes for [Diego] Simeone and Griezmann. Antoine is a fantastic player and loves life at Atletico. I don’t know what Manchester United’s interest is. But Griezmann will be at Atletico for a long time,” he added.
