The Gunners may not be happy with what’s in store for them with Aubameyang. The North London club was persistent on signing the striker. It was said that the player is available and the price quoted for him was £42 million. Arsenal was believed to sign the player if they put forth a club record fee for the Borussia Dortmund player. However, now reports claim that Aubameyang does not fancy making an exit Signal Iduna Park. Arsenal wasn’t the only club behind him, Merseyside team Liverpool was also targeting the 26-year-old. Manchester United were looking for the pacey forward.
Bild said that Arsenal was keen on sealing the deal with Aubamyeng for a good amount of money but now Aubameyang isn’t in favour of the deal. Aubameyang has clearly stated that he doesn’t wish to leave the club and will stay with the German side until Reus is at the club. Reus and Aubameyang share a good friendship and indeed it can be seen what a deep bond they share that Auba is considering declining a move to the Emirates for his beloved team mate, Reus.
Aubameyang joined Dortmund in 2013 and has made 77 appearances, ever since. He has netted 43 times, which is massive. Aubamyeng’s addition to Arsenal would have been fruitful to the squad, but the London club doesn’t seem to be lucky in getting him, any soon. Maybe a higher/ club record fee could attract him to England but that’s not very likely.
Liverpool after assigning Jurgen Klopp as their manager also got linked with the striker as they also need bolstering in their attack and Klopp has a good relationship with the Gabon international and that gave pace to the speculation.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have to start looking for some other striker now to bolster their attack.
