Barcelona have scripted history when they managed to overturn their 4-0 deficit in the second leg at Camp Nou earlier this week.
The Catalans have scored six goals in the game as they managed to win the tie by 6-5 on aggregate in the greatest comeback of Champions League history (at least statistically). The Blaugrana has scored their final three goals in the final 10 minutes as they scored the winner with just 20 seconds prior to finishing of injury time.
However, the hosts were put on the back foot when PSG striker Edinson Cavani scored a stunner in the 62nd minute when they visitors managed to pull a crucial away goal which has almost sealed the hopes of Barcelona players and fans from believing.
But one player who still believed in Barcelona winning was, goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegan as he was the only one in the team that rallied the Barca troops despite their back foot in the fixture.
The news was later revealed by defender Javier Mascherano was played solidly in the backline and played a huge role in Barca’s 6-1 win.
Javier Mascherano revealed: “After we conceded the goal, Ter Stegen started screaming: ‘We never die, we are Barcelona!’
“He continued screaming: ‘We will win. We will win!’ At one point I told Busquets that Ter Stegen wasn’t okay.”
It is quite an admiration for the youngster as he is one of the youngest and junior players in the squad. Did he play a role in Barcelona’s epic win by motivating them? You never know.
