Barcelona director Robert Fernandez was sent to Munich after a dismal 4-0 loss to Paris Saint Germain a day before to scout their key defensive target Hector Bellerin.
Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo had already claimed that he would present at the game before the match and the Catalan club director saw Gunners get thrashed by Bayern in a 5-1 rout.

However, the same publication has revealed that the director was left hugely unimpressed with Bellerin after a poor performance by Arsenal in a forgettable night at Munich.
The young Spaniard has failed to stop Bayern wingers in the final third as they ran rout on Arsenal in the second half. Bellerin could not impress with his poor outing as he hardly made contribution to catch the attention of the emissary from Barcelona.
However, it is believed that Fernandez was hugely impressed with the performance of former Barcelona player Thiago Alcantara who has scored a brace in the game and was at the heart of Bayern’s attack throughout the game.
Bellerin has been a long term target for Barcelona and their interest has increased with the player developing well at Arsenal and the fact that Dani Alves left Barca last summer for free to Juventus.
The injury to their first choice right back Aleix Vidal meant the Catalans have reignited their interest in the Arsenal full-back and the performance has not helped Bellerin’s cause to get back to his home club.
Mundo Deportivo further claims that Fernandez still feels the player can be bought this summer but the fact that Arsenal are reluctant to sell him and his high price tag are the major problem for the transfer to happen in summer.
The 21-year old has recently signed a six and half year contract with Gunners and will still need to develop before moving back to Barcelona or any other big club in Europe.
