Barcelona And PSG Cotinue Battle For Philippe Coutinho Transfer
Barcelona legend Ronaldinho has claimed the Catalan outfit is preparing a sensational bid for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazil international has been in sensational form this season and has played a pivotal role in helping the Reds mount one of their most promising title challenges in recent years. The playmaker had already bagged five goals and as many assists before suffering an ankle injury last month that has kept him out of the action till now.
Coutinho’s form has made several clubs keep a close tab on him with the Spanish champions one of the most highly-interested teams.
The former Brazil international said:“I hope when he (Coutinho) returns from an injury that he will continue the form he has been showing all season with Liverpool.
“He has been one of the stand-out players in Europe this season – and I know there is a lot of admiration for him at Barcelona.
“Liverpool will want to keep him, they have built the team around him. But when you play at that level then there is always interest,” he added.
Paris Saint-Germain preparing £40million January bid for the Liverpool star:
Another club that has been heavily linked with the Anfield ace is PSG. The reigning League 1 champions have struggled to perform well this term and currently lying third in the league, five points adrift of table-toppers Nice. To put an end to their woes, the French moneybags have made the Brazilian their prime target and are reportedly preparing a £40million bid for the midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
The Express has reported that the Reds are more or less certain that the 24-year old will leave Anfield in summer as he is growing desperate to win trophies. However, a transfer in January is very unlikely. The report further claimed that Bayern Munich is also interested in securing the Liverpool star’s signing.
