There were also a number of star players who excelled on the night and here is the team of the week for Match Day 13 of the Premier League this season:
Darren Randoplh (West Ham United):
Helping the Hammers to hold on to a point at the Old Trafford, the West ham shot stopper was at his best on the night putting in some important saves to keep the score at 1-1.
Antonio Valencia (Manchester United):
Providing great support in the final third against West Ham, Valencia, was ever present for United on the night as he helped them out at both ends of the field to hold on to atleast a point this weekend.
Virgil van Dijk (Southampton):
The Dutch defender is in sublime form at the moment and put in a mammoth performance at home against Everton to help his side hold on to an early lead, to keep his second clean sheet in as many games in the league.
Angelo Ogbonna (West Ham United):
Another West Ham player who excelled at Old Trafford, Ogbonna, put in a solid effort at the back, making a number of clearances, interception and blocks to help his side to a point.
James Milner (Liverpool):
The Liverpool make-shift fullback was yet again a constant presence for the side in their victory over Sunderland. He kept the visitors away from danger and also converted a late penalty to give his side all three points on the night.
Victor Moses (Chelsea):
Though a wing-back, Moses, gets a place in this side as a part of the midfield on the wing for his energetic performance for Chelsea in their win against Tottenham Hotspur, also getting himself on the score sheet to get the winner on the night.
Jordan Henderson (Liverpool):
The Liverpool skipper managed to chalk in more passes than any other player in the league this weekend and put in a solid performance to help his side to all three points on the night.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea):
Working hard and keeping discipline in a game where both teams scored 9 goals, Sigurdsson was one of the best players on the night for both teams and makes it into this XI for his performances in the victory over Palace.
Alvaro Negredo (Middlesbrough):
Though could not help his side to a victory over the Champions, Negredo, put in a solid performance, bagging a brace and almost helping Boro to all three point from a trip to the Kind Power this weekend.
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City):
Continuing his nag of scoring goals when his team needs them the most, Aguero, scored the winner for Manchester City at the Turf Moor in a game where City were just not able to get the better of the home side.
Fernando Llorente (Swansea):
Arguably the player of the weekend, Llorente, came in as a substitute in the game against Palace and scored two stoppage time goals, with a poacher’s instinct to give Swansea 3 important points over Pardew’s side.
