Bayern Munich 4-2 Juventus: player ratings

The German champions pulled one over the Italian champions in the Round of 16 ties in the Champions League. Bayern came back from 2 goals down to beat Juventus 4-2 and take away the game 6-4 on aggregate leaving Juventus with a sour memory.
There were a number of superb performance in this game at the Allianz Arena and here are the player ratings for both sides:
Bayern Munich:
M Neuer (2):
Rushed out unnecessarily for the first goal and almost gave away a second when his clearance fell right at Morata’s feat. Had a peculiarly off day on the night.
D Alaba (3):
Should have done better to stop the first goal but had a good time in the attacking half of the field all night long.
P Lahm (3.5):
Was superb at the back defensively and also helped his team in a number of attacks in the final third.
M Benatia (2.5):
Was troubled all night long by Juve’s front line and was replaced at half-time.
J Kimmich (3):
Struggled against the likes of Morata but grew comfortable as the game progressed and Bayern dominated.
D Costa (3.5):
Was busy all day with his running on the right flank and also found a pinpoint ball to help Lewandowski finally open the scoring for Bayern.
F Ribery (3.5):
Caused plenty of problems for Juve’s back line as he constantly took on a direct approach and troubled the defenders.
A Vidal (4):
Arguable Bayern’s best player on the night, Vidal was superb with his attacking runs but also made sure that he defended strongly in the centre of the park.
Xabi Alonso (3.5):
Stuck to his task well and did try anything fancy till he was replaced by Coman later in the game.
R Lewandowski (3):
Started the game slowly but opened the scoring for Bayern and was a menacing figure in the final third for most of the game.
T Muller (3.5):
Looked the biggest threat for the German side on the night and also scored the all-important equalizer late in the game to take it to extra time.
Subs:
T Alcantara (3):
Came in as a substitute and put Bayern in the lead for the first team in Germany. Was smart enough to finish off the game in grand fashion.
Bernat (3)
Coman (3):
Scored the winning goal late in extra time and also provided the assist for Muller’s equalizer in a superb game for the winger.
Juventus:
G Buffon (3):
Stuck to his task well and couldn’t do much for any of the goals that his side let in on the night.
A Barzagli (3):
Was solid at the back giving the likes of Muller and Lewandowski no space and time on the ball to hurt them.
L Bonucci (2.5):
Started the game brightly but slowly faded away and was beaten with ease in every attack in extra time.
A Sandro (3):
Played as a deep lying midfielder and stuck to his task to keep his goal pure until the surge for the home side late in the game.
S Lichtsteiner (3):
Hardly gave the likes of Ribery any time on the ball and also provided a threat going forward every chance he got.
P Evra (3):
Was solid for most of the game but his misclearance helped Bayern take the lead with the third goal.
S Khedira (3):
Was pinpoint with his passing and also put in a defensive shift in an impressive game.
Hernanes (3.5):
Stuck to his task well of filling the gaps in defense as he frustrated the Bayern midfield time and again.
P Pogba (3.5):
Put in a determined display to help his side after opening the scoring 6 minutes into the game.
J Cuadrado (3.5):
Was excellent with his positive running all over the field as he was full of energy and also picked up a goal with a superb finish to give Juve a 2 goal lead.
Alvaro Morata (4):
Showed his class, pace and trickery as he proved hard to contain on a night where the Italian outfit were happy to defend. A superb game for the Spanish attacker.
