Blow to Manchester United as Bayern Munich enter race to sign Gareth Bale
According to latest reports, German giants Bayern Munich have set their sights on Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale. The reigning Bundesliga champions are also willing to offer the transfer fee and wages required to bring the Welsh international to Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich have world class wingers in the names of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, two players who changed the dynamic of their game style over the past six seasons. With both the years reaching the pinnacle of their careers, the time for the replacement of these wing wizards have come as they are getting injured quite often these days.
Franck Ribery has been out of action since early March and Robben has been ruled out with a calf injury for the rest of the season. Bayern Munich given their style of play are over dependent on wing play.
With Ribery (32) and Robben (31), Pep Guardiola will try to seek replacements for the ageing wingers and Gareth Bale could be tempted to work under Guardiola after having a below-par season at Bernebau this year.
Manchester United are also interested in the forward as he provides lot of pace to their attack and are willing to offer David De Gea in a swap deal hoping to land the 25-year old Welshman.
Should Bayern Munich enter the race, Manchester United might just lose their player once again as Bale can play with freedom at Allianz Arena but will have high expectations while playing at Old Trafford.
