Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has said that his former boss Jurgen Klopp can lead Liverpool to Premier League glory this season.

Jurgen Klopp took charge of the Merseyside club last season and has done a remarkable job with them. He led the Reds to League Cup final and Europa League final in his first season. However, he is making a strong case for himself and the Reds this season where his team has made an electrifying start. Liverpool are looking like one of the most dangerous teams in the league and have already defeated Arsenal, Chelsea, and Leicester City. They are currently sitting at the fourth position in the table after winning five of their opening seven games.

“Under Klopp, I think they will be fighting for the title this season,” Lewandowski told Goal.

The Poland international also said that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will possess a serious threat to all the teams for the title.He added that no pressure of playing European football will further boost Liverpool’s chances.

“Pep and Manchester City will not make it easy for anybody to win the title, but Liverpool have a real chance.

“Without European football, it can really help them with being fresh for games and with injuries and, even though Klopp is always smiling, he is ruthless enough to take advantage of that.”

Lewandowski transformed into one of the most dangerous strikers in the world under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund. And the 28-year has praised the German tactician’s man-management skills and saying that Klopp’s faith in players brings the best out of them.

“I have watched some Liverpool games since the arrival of Klopp, and you can see that the players are enjoying playing for him,” he explained.

“As a player you know that he totally has your back, he is like a father figure and, because you have that trust in him as a player, it makes you totally open to his methods and his ideas which, in the long term, you always see are for the benefit of your game and for the team,” the ace striker added.
