Bayern Munich supporters have been urged to boycott the first five minutes of their next champions league away fixture against Arsenal to protest over excessively high ticket price.

The current Bundesliga champions, picking maximum points from their first two group matches have made a great start in Group F. On the other hand, Arsenal looks like waiting for an early elimination from Champions League as they lost both of their first two games.

The Guardian reports, Bayern supporters have been struck hard for the match next Tuesday as ticket price is very high for the away supporters.

Reports are coming, FC Bayern Worldwide – a supporters’ group – are urging the German fans to boycott the first five minutes of the Champions League game due to ‘excessive ticket prices’.

The away Fans are likely to have been charged a minimum of £64 to watch the match at the Emirates.

A statement from the supporters’ group stated: “This kind of a price structure makes a stadium visit impossible for younger and socially disadvantaged fans. It destroys fan culture, which is the basis of football. In England, this development has already taken place.

“We want to protest at the price structure and at the same time changes in the stadia. We want to remind clubs and associations of their social responsibility and warn them of the effects, which we will all feel, both as fans and club officials. We express our support for campaigns like ‘20’s Plenty’ from England and ‘Kein Zwanni’ [No €20] in Germany. Especially the developments in English football should be a sobering example.

“The first five minutes of the game in London will be what future football will look like if this madness continues. Empty seats in the stands and no singing or emotion in the stands.

“In the following 85 minutes we want to show the alternative and show how fundamentally important a lively fan-culture is for football.”

Last month also fans from most Football League clubs staged their support in the “Twenty’s plenty” protest which is organised by the Football Supporter’s Federation. The main agenda of this campaign is to persuade the clubs to cut short the away prices to £20.
