China is now turning into one of the most financially powerful leagues in the world of football. With a number of names including the likes of Ramires, Alex Teixeira and Lavezzi already making the move, the Chinese league is now growing in quality.

However, they have not really been able to get their hands on anyone they want as it was reported that long term Everton target Andriy Yarmolenko rejected a move to the Asian country.

According to reports in Ukraine, Everton target Andriy Yarmolenko has rejected a 60m Euro move to China.

The 26 year old was on the radar of a Chinese club that was not revealed who are understood to have made an offer of 46m Euros plus add-ons to secure his signature.

Yarmolenko, though, is said to have rejected the move, and remains desperate to secure a switch to one of Europe’s top leagues in the summer.

The players representatives were in Liverpool to check out the league cup semi-final between Everton and Manchester City even as the Toffees retain strong interest in the playmaker.

However, Dynamo Kiev who face Manchester City in the Champions League next week are not ready to sell their prized asset making a Everton’s move for the player complicated.

Everton will also face tough competition from a number of European clubs including the like of Barcelona but the 26-year old earlier made it clear that “It is better to play at Everton.”

Talking to a Ukrainian news publication, Yarmolenko said, “Of course you can go to Barcelona, make a cool selfie with (Lionel) Messi, put the images on Instagram and get a million likes and be pleased with yourself. But I’m not one of those.

“For me it is important to play matches. If I do not play twice a week, I have nowhere to throw out the emotions and energy. My family will go mad. If I play, the next day I am all calm and smile. If I missed the game and lay in the house, I immediately run into a quarrel.”

This put Everton on an alert who will now make the move for the Ukrainian international this summer.

The fact that he rejected a move to the cash rich league in China along with a number of superstars from Europe gives the Blues even more hope of landing their target before the start of the next season.

The likes of Ramires, Alex Teixeira, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Demba Ba, Fredy Guarin and Jackson Martinez have all moved to China this year, along with former Everton striker Nikica Jelavic.
