Blow For Manchester United As Deal For Lindelof Hits A Snag! 1

After spending more than £100m in the summer transfer window, Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will not be too pleased with the start they have made to the current campaign.

But they have now managed to stitch a 3 game winning streak and the manager will hope that they can keep up the good work till the end of the season, to try and put pressure on clubs at the top of the table.

Though the squad at the club has some great quality, Mourinho, is not really pleased with the options at his disposal and is ready to axe a number of senior players who have been underperforming for a while now.

A number of star players have been linked with an exit, and Mourinho is now desperate for some additions.

Though he spent on Eric Bailly in the summer, Mourinho is not really happy with the defenders in his team and has been on the lookout for potential stars in the market.

One such player, who seems to have already finished a move to Old Trafford is Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.

Recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils and the player’s representatives have agreed on a deal in January and that Lindelof will move to the Old Trafford after the turn of the year.

According to the report, Lindelof will cost Manchester United around £38m with United ready to splash the cash. It was also reported on several social media that the 22-year old will wear the No.2 shirt at the Old Trafford and that he is all but a United player.

However, the United fans were dealt a huge blow this week as reports have revealed a delay in this deal, just a few days before the transfer window is open.

According to A Bola, Lindelof’s former side Vasteras is the cause of this snag.

It is reported that the Swedish side are in disagreement over a clause in the contract which might stop Manchester United from getting their man.

The report suggests that Vasteras are demanding €250,000 from the Portuguese outfit, as a part of the deal of the 22-year who graduated from their academy.

It is understood that Vasteras are well within their rights to demand the fee as a clause in Lindelof’s contract is attached to the number of Champions League appearances he makes at his new club.

However, Benfica and Manchester United have agreed a fee while Jorge Mendes, the agent of the star player, and the player himself are happy with the wages.

So it looks like it will be up to Benfica to pay the €250,000 in January to allow Manchester United to get their man.

Do you think Vasteras can spoil United’s party?
