Blow for Manchester United: Ronaldo reveals his retirement plan
Bad news for Manchester United as Cristiano Ronaldo rubbished his possible return to Premier League by revealing his retirement plan in Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old Portuguese superstar has been heavily linked with an emotional return to Old Trafford, where he dazzled for six years under the father figure of Sir Alex Ferguson, before moving to Real Madrid for a record £80 million transfer fee.
For the last 2-3 transfer window, Ronaldo hijacked most of the headlines with a rumour of his potential reunion with the Red Devils. But after winning a record fourth Golden Boot yesterday CR7 made it clear, he has no plans to goodbye Bernabeu anytime soon.
Ronaldo said to Spanish sports daily Marca, “My dream is to retire at Real Madrid. If you take care of yourself you can play until you are 40.
“I want to keep going for another five or six years. I feel good and useful in Madrid and I want to win here.”
Ronaldo, who won his first Golden Boot at United in 2007-08 following at Real Madrid in 2010-11 and 2013-14, said he still remains unsatisfied with his current trophy haul.
“I am not satisfied. I want more. I’m the only one who has four, but I want the fifth and sixth also.”
