Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were once again unplayable, this time at home, against a below par Hull City side in their recent 5-1 victory in the Premier League.
The German manager has transformed the side into an exciting footballing outfit with an abundance of goals from players all over the field. But not long ago, the Reds were struggling to find players who could score goals regularly for the side.
The fact that it took the manager just a year to induce such drastic change shows that quality he has and this has not gone un-noticed back at his homeland.
According to recent reports, German giants Bayern Munich, are reportedly eyeing Klopp as a replacement for the current manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Now 49, Klopp, is regarded as one of the best managers in world football at the moment and his time in the Bundesliga is an example of what he can achieve with his ‘high intensity’ game style.
He was in charge of the Mainz side in the Bundesliga for 7 years before moving on to Borussia Dortmund, a club that worships him. He took the side to a Champions League final and also won a couple of Bundesliga titles making himself heard on the European stage.
Liverpool were quick to snap up the German who left the Bundesliga outfit at the end of the 2014-15 season and are now reaping benefits of his quality and managerial skills.
However, it was not long before he was wanted by some of the top clubs in Europe so the Bayern Munich link does not come as a surprise.
The Liverpool boss was also linked with a move to take charge of the German national team replacing Joachim Low but it is understood that he is settled in his life at Liverpool and is not really looking to other places to ply his trade.
However, a Bayern source confirmed: “Jurgen is very highly thought of there. He will top the list of candidates to be the next coach.”
This news will not put any panic in the Merseyside outfit as any move from Klopp will not happen anytime soon.
The former Real Madrid coach, Ancelotti, is contracted with the club till 2018 and has started his reign in supreme fashion. He is a manager of the highest order and will win lots of things with a strong Bayern side leaving the club with no real hurry to find a replacement.
But the 58-year old might eventually leave the club after the 2017-18 season and it is understood that Bayern are ready to pounce on Klopp for the future.
Though Klopp is happy with his life at Liverpool, it is hard to imagine him turning down an offer from the biggest club in his home country.
It will be interesting to see what Bayern will do to get the Liverpool man back to Germany. Do you think Liverpool can keep hold of Klopp for a long time?
