Bayern boss Pep Guardiola reassured the Gunners fans his side will seek only victory against Olympiakos as they are looking to secure the top spot in Group F.
After Defeating Bayern Munich at the Emirates two weeks ago, Arsenal travelled to Germany with a decent record but that was just blown away by the German superpowers with a 5-1 margin.
With A late Olympiakos winner against Dynamo Zagreb, Arsenal now hoping that the Greek club to lose against Bayern in for them to have any slight chance of moving to the knockout stages.
But A simple draw in Munich will put both Bayern and Olympiakos through. Although Guardiola assured, his side will look for the win to secure top spot.
“You make this question to a coach and a club then you have to know it is impossible to not try and win the game,” he said when asked if he could assure Arsenal his side will not settle for a draw.
“Arsenal fans need to be calm. The players are going to go and try to win against Olympiakos, we might not be able to do that but not because we weren’t fighting but we want to be first in the group,” Guardiola reacted after the game.
The Bayern boss, while satisfied with his team’s stunning display of finishing against Arsenal, also highlighted the areas where more improvements needed.
“Many congratulations to my team, especially for the first half,” he said.
“We gave away possession too cheaply in the first 10 minutes, and that was when Arsenal were very dangerous. But it was easier after the first goal. We got better and better thanks to the support of our fans.
“Our aim was to control the game in the second half, but we let them get at us too often on the break. That has to improve. “But we’ve done it and we’re nearly through. Now we want to beat Olympiakos and finish top of the group.”
