Jurgen Klopp has had a nightmare of a year so far as his team is yet to win a Premier League game since the turn of the year. The January transfer window also saw no real additions to the squad, leaving the fans furious.
The fans of the club had just one thing to cheer about this year. The contract extension of one Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian playmaker is among the best in his position in the league at the moment and he was extensively linked with an exit in the summer. Klopp managed to tie him down to a long-term contract in the summer, making it close to impossible for clubs to lure him away.
The German has already spoken about the emphasis on securing the futures of the core of the squad and reports from the Telegraph claim that star midfielder Adam Lallana is next in line to pen a new deal.

The English international has had the best year of his career in terms of productive for club and country and was named the ‘Player of the Year’ for England for 2016. He showed enormous improvement under the new manager and has become a key player in the plans at Anfield.
He has not been effective, like many else, in this recent form but reports suggest that he is up for a pay-rise in the upcoming days.
The report claims that Lallana will be offered £150,000-a-week on his new deal, which is a considerable improvement on his previous wage. It is understood that this deal will keep the 28-year old at the club till 2021.
The former Southampton skipper joined the Reds back in 2014 under Brendan Rodgers for £25m but did not come to life until Klopp came to town.

He was used in a slightly deeper role at the start of the season by the German tactician, making place for Sadio Mane on the wing and this has seen a great improvement in not just his performances but also his productivity in front of goal.
As a result, his performances for the Three Lions have also been encouraging.
He scored the only goal, a winner, in Sam Allardyce’s embarrassingly small stint as the English manager and has established himself as a key player under Gareth Southgate the current coach.
With Coutinho and Lallana done, Klopp will now be looking to secure the long-term futures of other key players in the squad.
