BPL Match Day 9: Team of the week including Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea stars
From Manchester United’s humiliation at the Stamford Bridge to the stern resistance of Middlesbrough at the Emirates, the Premier League produced yet another weekend of intense action as it reaches a crucial stage in the season. Team would like to find some consistency leading into the rush of games in a month’s time but only Liverpool and Chelsea managed to come out with all three points in the top-6 this weekend.
There were also a number of top class individual performances and here is team of the week for Match Day 9 of the Premier League:
Petr Cech (Arsenal):
The Gunners shot stopper was the real hero for Arsenal at the Emirates as he made a number of crucial stops to deny Middlesbrough anything more than a point this weekend.
Helping Chelsea to their 4th clean sheet of the season, the Spaniard was in fine form as a part of Conte’s 3-man defense and gets into our team of the week on as a right back.
Winston Reid (West Ham United):
Putting in a stellar performance at the back and chipping in with the only goal in the victory over Sunderland, Reid had a perfect week helping West Ham to a victory this weekend.
Gareth McAuley (West Bromwich Albion):
The Baggies center back was strong for most of the night to deny a fluid Liverpool at Anfield and also produced a nervy finish, scoring with his side’s only shot on target on a disastrous night.
Sam McQueen (Southampton):
Filling in for injuries for Southampton at the back, the 19-year old produced a stellar performance keeping at bay the likes of Raheem Sterling and Segio Aguero as he earned his team a point at the Etihad.
Harry Arter (AFC Bournemouth):
The Bournemouth midfielder put in a superb shift in the midfield on the night against the Spurs as he managed to make a number of blocks and interceptions to give his side a point.
N Golo Kante (Chelsea):
A major contributor for the 4-0 demolition of Manchester United at the Bridge, Kante, was superb all night in the midfield of the side and also scored a superb goal to top of his performance.
Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke City):
The Swizz international has always produced moments of brilliance for the Potters and he did so yet again to break the deadlock and give his side all three points this weekend against Hull City.
Phillipe Coutinho (Liverpool):
The Brazil magician was at his best against the Baggies as he played a role in the build up to the first goal and scored the second to give his side all three points from this game.
Eden Hazard (Chelsea):
The man of the match for Chelsea in the victory over United, Hazard, was superlative all night, picking up a goal and an assist on a sensational night for the attacker.
Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City):
Leading the line for this side is Leicester City’s Shinji Okazaki who put in an unstoppable performance against Palace this weekend. He scored, created a number of chances and tormented the opposition defense to make it into this side.
