Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi is in line to sign a new deal as he has established himself as a key first-team player this season under Arsene Wenger, according to Daily Mirror.
The 20-year old has been in the scintillating form off late as he has looked very mature in his gameplay in the final third. He has been consistently impressive which has made him a regular starter for Gunners so far this season.
He has also played a key role in the Arsenal’s campaign as they have now won five Premier League games in a row having managed only one point in their first two league games. The Gunners are back in the title race as they are only two points away from league leaders Manchester City.
The Nigerian’s one touch play in the final third has really made the difference for Arsenal as it has opened up opposition defenses with ease. The evolution of Iwobi in the first team meant Alexis Sanchez is playing a more central role as he looked lethal in front of the goal this season which has helped the club as a whole in their results.
The starlet has previously signed a new deal in April and have been earning £25,000-a-week currently. He will see a huge increase in his wages as he is set to sign a further extension as Gunners look to tie him down for a long-term future after his spectacular performances in the recent weeks.
The Gunners are also keen to offer a new deal for another young defender Hector Bellerin who has been equally impressive to ward off the interest of Manchester City and Barcelona. However, there has been speculations of him leaving the club despite the new deal as he looks to work with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The club are also hopeful of keeping Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as discussions over their new contracts are yet to be concluded as they are being discussed for the past few months now.
