Breaking: EPL stars in danger as Germany squad evacuated from Paris hotel due to bomb threat
This is huge, Germany footballers have been evacuated from a hotel in Paris after it was detected that there was a bomb scare.
An anonymous caller phoned in the threat at 9:50 am on Friday morning which instigated the entire incident and the entire squad was ordered to leave the Hotel premise at once.
Germany’s business manager, Oliver Bierhoff was quoted by Germany’s Express newspaper. “There was a threat and the hotel has been evacuated and cordoned off”.
The local Police with sniffer dogs went on site to check for potential explosives and a security perimeter was established around the team hotel.
The head of the German football federation (DFB) security team Hendrik Grosse Lefert further said that there was no indication of when the squad would be allowed to return to the complex.
Hendrik said: “The French police have informed us that an anonymous bomb threat had been made.
“Together with our colleagues, we decided to evacuate the hotel to enable them to go through and examine the rooms and conference rooms thoroughly.”
The defending world champions were present at the French capital to play against the France national team. The German squad consisted of stars around the world which includes EPL stars like Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger, Liverpool’s Emre Can, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, etc.
