German winger Serge Gnabry has been recalled by Arsenal from West Brom loan spell.

Arsenal have finally agreed to cut short Serge Gnabry’s loan spell at West Bromwich Albion and already exercised a recall option.

The German winger will now have his season-long loan scrapped by his parent club after not a good spell at the Hawthorns under Tony Pulis.

The German ace has only managed to play 12 minutes of Premier League football since signing in August and it is understood that he will be sent out on another loan spell by Arsenal, with a few of Championship sides, including Brighton, showing interest.

20-year-old Gnabry has not played for West Brom since the 3-0 defeat to Norwich in September’s Capital One Cup clash and is reportedly said his goodbyes to teammates last week.

West Brom boss Pulis also admitted earlier this season that the German under-21 player was not “at that level to play games” and he has rarely featured in Albion’s match-day squads.

However, Arsenal regards him highly talented and believe his development would be better served by playing more competitive football in the Championship rather than top flight of the English football.
