Just In – Louis van Gaal stalls David De Gea move to Real Madrid
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is ‘the main problem’ that is stopping David de Gea from moving to Real Madrid, claims Spanish newspaper Sport.
As the the United number one Goalkeeper enters into the final year of his Old Trafford contract, he is adamant on a return to his native Spain. But the Red Devils’ boss van Gaal won’t sanction an easy sale, and has requested hierarchy not to sanction the goalkeeper’s sale until a huge sum is counted.
The newspaper also claim that the Dutch manager will be willing to sell the former Atletico Madrid custodian only after a proper replacement is secured. It is further revealed that the former Bayern Munich head coach has questioned Madrid’s transfer policy, asking how Los Blancos can justify a €75 million price tag for United’s record signing Angel Di Maria, a €90 million valuation of want away defender Sergio Ramos, and be reluctant to pay €40 million for De Gea.
YOU’RE NOT GOING UNTIL I SAY!: Louis van Gaal has put De GEa’s move on a hold
And being a former Barcelona manager himself, there is said to be a ‘ill feeling’ towards Los Blancos, which further adds to the cause of not sanctioning a sale. The Red Devils know that De Gea will depart eventually, but are ready to play hard ball as a reply to their unfair dealing during the transfer of Di Maria, which was ‘dragged out more than needed’
United are actively pursuing Real Madrid defender and vice-captain Sergio Ramos, who is certain to leave the club after letting the club know about his intentions on the matter. The Old Trafford side have even made a bid of £28.6 million for the World Cup winner.
OLD TRAFFORD THAT WAY? I’M COMING!: Sergio Ramos has told Real Madrid that he wants to join United
Fair enough. Real Madrid are getting a dose of their own medicine. United are still bitter about the way the Di Maria saga was dragged on, and are exerting a sort of vengeance. Graham Hunter of Sky Sports is assured that Ramos is moving to Manchester United, with Madrid having treated Ramos unfairly. He also says for the first time in years, Manchester United are playing their cards very, very shrewdly. Such sort of business is alien Madrid, who ‘get what they want’.
Doesn’t seem this time though, and with money not an issue, perhaps won’t be a surprise if United keep De Gea, allow him to leave for free next season, while also robbing Ramos.
