Manchester United have announced 26 men squad for the UEFA Champions League group stage. After almost a month Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea makes a comeback into the Manchester United squad. Unfortunately Louis van Gaal has neglected Victor Valdes in the squad selection.
David De Gea transfer saga finally ended on the transfer deadline day on Monday, 2nd September after Real Madrid failed to sign the player due to lack of paper works. This meant that the Spaniard would stay back at Manchester for yet another year and serve the Red Devils.
During the entire De Gea transfer episode which lasted for almost a month, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal opted to put the goalkeeper out of the match day squads. De Gea featured in none of the Premier League games as well in the Champions League qualifiers. Sergio Romero who was brought in this summer by Van Gaal served as the first choice custodian and did a commendable job.
Now that the transfer period is over, David De Gea who is undoubtedly the best goalkeeper in the United squad has been brought back to bolster the team in the Champions League. David De Gea was instrumental last season for the club and was responsible for atleast 10 points which United proucred last season.
De Gea’s contribution to United is undeniable and thus, he has been brought back by Louis van Gaal. Also Newest recruit Anthony Martial has also been included in the United squad.
