Manchester United are already planning to offer a new deal for summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic after his lightning start to the season at Old Trafford.
The 34-year old has joined Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and have signed a contract for 1 year with an option to extend it to another year. However, the Swede has found life easy at Old Trafford as he already scored some of the best goals of the season.
He has already become a reliable striker for new manager Jose Mourinho and his physical condition is one of the major factors that amazed everyone. Being at 34 (turns 35 next month), Zlatan have broken all records in medical tests as age has not taken any toll on his body so far.
According to Mirror, Manchester United hierarchy believes that he still has a few years left in his body and are ready to offer a new three-year contract which would see him at the club close to his 38th birthday.
The player currently has a £250,000-a-week deal and was brought as a short-term solution for United’s goal scoring problems. But after seeing his physical condition, the board wants to offer him a contract till 2019.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic have so far scored four goals in four games in his Manchester United career and his influence in the dressing room is also one of the major factors in offering a new deal, the report suggested.
A club insider told Mirror, Zlatan is “the kind of talisman not seen at the club since Eric Cantona.” The player is keen to prove himself in Premier League and want to bring back the glory days to Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.
