Paul Pogba’s record £100million move to Manchester United will reportedly be finalized later today with his no.10 Juventus shirt set to go to Paulo Dybala.
Italian publication Calcio Mercato claim Manchester United’s Pogba deal could be finalized today with Juventus fans making a ‘final farewell’ to the midfielder.
Attention has now turned to who will be handed the famous No 10 shirt at Juve following the Frenchman’s departure.
The shirt has been worn by a host of legends including Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Baggio and Michel Platini and Italian media suggest the ‘burden’ will now fall to Dybala.
The report also claims the former Palermo man has all the right characteristics to take the shirt despite only spending one season with Juve.
Pogba is believed to be handed the No 6 shirt at United and seemed to confirm it over the weekend when he signed a fan’s shirt with ‘Pogba 6’ on the back.
Manchester United have already roped in Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Mourinho is still looking for a fourth high-octaner signing ahead of the upcoming season.
The Portuguese boss was initially quite pessimistic about United’s chances of signing Pogba but the club’s discussions with Raiola have been positive over the last two months.
The Guardian earlier reported United tabled an improved £92m offer for the Juventus midfielder.
But it has been straightaway rejected with Juventus informing United that they are after closer to £100m as the Serie A champions attempt to extract the best possible financial deal.
With agent Mino Raiola’s £20m windfall included and the Frenchman’s £11m-a-year salary, United could end up paying out £175m over the five years of his contract.
