Who Can Arsenal, Man City And Leicester Face In The Champions League Last-16!! 1

The group stage of this season’s Champions League drew to a close on Wednesday night, with the full list of sixteen teams making it to the knockout round now confirmed.

In truth, there were very few major shocks in terms of the qualifiers – Tottenham and Lyon perhaps the two biggest casualties.

As such, the list of teams still participating in this year’s Champions League reads as follows:

Group Winners: Arsenal, Napoli, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Leicester City, Juventus

Group Runners-Up: Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Porto, Sevilla

Given the fact that a team cannot face the same side in the knockout stage that it faced in the group, not can it face the team from the same country, the number of sides that Arsenal, Leicester and Man City can face is reduced.

Arsenal won their group for the first time in five years, but with the likes of Bayern and Real Madrid failing to win their respective groups, that may not be the advantage it would have been in previous seasons.

Leicester also face the same potentially daunting trip to a European giant, but Man City will at least feel relieved that they can’t be paired with Barcelona in Monday’s draw.

Here is who each side could face in the last sixteen:

Arsenal: Benfica, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Porto, Sevilla,

Leicester City: Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Sevilla

Manchester City: Napoli, Atlético Madrid, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus

The draw, as previously mentioned, will take place next Monday the 12th December.
