Liverpool have made many controversial signings in the recent past but none more than the Italian star Mario Balotelli.
The 25-year old was snapped up by Brendan Rodgers a couple of years ago after the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona but his lack of performances in the side saw him shipped off to AC Milan on a season-long loan at the start of the previous season.
Balotelli’s stint in the Serie A did not earn him a permanent spot in the Milan side and he is now currently at Liverpool but far away from the plans of the new manager.
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Balotelli has no place in his squad and he is ready to let him release him at the end of the summer if they are not able to off-load him.
The Italian was linked with a number of fringe clubs recently but none of the deals were followed through and it is now understood that a Dutch club is ready to give him a lifeline next season.
The 25-year old is currently training with the Liverpool U-21s to try and keep himself fit and it is now revealed that Ajax have expressed their interest in a move for the attacker.
Balotelli moved to Liverpool on a three-year contract on a £16m and still has a year left on his contract. And it is understood that Liverpool are looking to recoup at least a part of the sum paid for him a couple of years ago.
Balotelli scored just 4 goals in his stint with Liverpool in his debut season but is an experienced campaigner who has played in many European leagues.
Ajax’ Champions League adventure may lure Balotelli to the club but it is to be seen as to how much the Dutch outfit is ready to pay for the striker.
Do you think Balotelli has any future at Liverpool?
