Chelsea, Manchester United and several other European suitors were dealt a major blow in the pursuit of Palermo attacker Paulo Dybala, who confirmed his move to Juventus.
The 21-year-old has been a dazzling performer in the Serie A this season, finding the back of the net 13 times in 35 appearances.
Performances like such had many European heavyweights circling for the former Instituto man’s signature, but Dybala has now decided to continue plying his trade in Italy with the Serie A winners.
Talking to Sky Sport Italia, the Argentine said: “Juventus are the side who wanted me the most,” the Argentine told Sky Sport Italia.
“They made a real effort to sign me and this is why I made my decision. I can certainly win the Scudetto there, as they are a winning team. I too always play to win and can find success with them.
“It will be impossible for me to forget everything I’ve experienced in three years at Palermo. I was happy from the very first day. I know that to play for Juve, I have to do much more and I’m sure I can improve a great deal.”
OLD LADY: Dybala had the chance to move to other clubs, but Juve impressed him the most
Dybala will pair up with his Argentine compatriot Carlos Tevez with the Old Lady. The 31-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Juventus Stadium, but expected to stay until 2016 when he will move to his native Buenos Aires with Boca Juniors. And Juventus’ newest acquisition hopes the former Manchester United, and will stay, and is eager to link up with the 66-cap Argentine.
“I hope he stays, as it would be much easier for me to learn and grow with him by my side.”
DON’T GO!: Dybala hopes Tevez will stay and help him grow at Juventus
Dybala will add to Juventus’ exciting young prospects in Alvaro Morata, Kingsley Coman, and Stefano Sturaro.
