The match between Chelsea and West Brom at Stamford Bridge resulted in a disappointing draw for the home team who were certainly aggrieved at multiple decisions that went against them over the match. The referee, Anthony Taylor was bordering on the edge of incompetence all during the match and this abysmal performance made him a target of vented anger for multiple players including Diego Costa who is clearly a scapegoat now for any of FA’s disciplinary actions.

‘Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion have both been charged for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion,’ an FA statement read.

‘The charge relates to an incident which occurred in or around the 58th minute of their fixture on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.

‘Both clubs have until 6 pm on 20 January 2016 to respond to the charge.’

The fact that there were some blatantly poor refereeing decisions makes for a grim viewing for the country as a whole as there is a certain question mark over the referees’ integrities with such degenerate performances when they referee London clubs and Chelsea in particular. This dogma of Chelsea’s players were strengthened further when the fourth official made a simply shocking and shameless reply to Hiddink’s protests, admitting to incompetence and in fact wearing that lack of integrity as a badge of honour against men who simply have to abide by his words and watch their efforts go in vain.

‘I told him: “This is one of the worst referees of the Premier League I have experienced,” said Hiddink, who had been on the receiving side of a dishonest referee in the Champions League Semi-Final of 2009.

‘He said to me ‘you haven’t seen me yet’, which was a beautiful remark I think.’

This remark doesn’t leave much to the imagination regarding the referees association and their trends in the Island nation.
