Chelsea winger Pedro who has scored his first goal for the Blues in their 4-0 rout against Manchester United this weekend believes the club can fight for the Premier League title.
“It’s the way to show we can fight for the title,” Pedro told Chelsea TV.
The Blues have turned the tables around quickly as they have now won three successive games in the league and are suddenly looking like a side to beat with their impressive defensive record.
Since the embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in London derby, Chelsea have managed a combined 9-0 in the three games there after when they met Hull City, Leicester City and Manchester United as they won 2-0,3-0 and 4-0 respectively.
However, centre back David Luiz feels that the team should not get carried away with their recent success as he feels they should keep working hard for the upcoming games.
“Every match is three points. It doesn’t matter the opponent. It’s good to win in this way. It’s good to also keep the feet on the floor, with humility. The important thing now is to rest a bit and then start to think about West Ham.
“Everybody is happy. It’s normal. We worked a lot for that victory during the week. We had an amazing game from the beginning. That’s why after the game we can be happy.”
Spanish winger Pedro has started the rout as he scored just 30 seconds into the fixture and Blues have tamed Red Devils as goals from Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante saw Manchester United suffer one of the worst Premier League defeats in their history.
Pedro who has scored his first goal for Chelsea in his 50th appearance for the club feels that the coach is confident in his abilities which is helping him excel at Stamford Bridge under Conte.
“For me it’s perfect that [manager Antonio] Conte is confident with me. The work is perfect,” Pedro said.
