Chelsea defender Thiago Silva’s wife Belle Silva lashed out at the club for their treatment of her husband during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. Belle Silva, who was in attendance at Stamford Bridge was fuming over one particular thing she noticed at the club’s home turf.
Thiago Silva joined the Blues back in the summer of 2020 after his contract expired with Paris Saint-Germain. While he penned an initial two-year deal at the Stamford Bridge, the club extended his stay by another year, handing out an extension till the summer of 2023 back in January this year. However, the Brazilian’s wife was left fuming at the Blues post their clash against Spurs.
Belle Silva raging over one small detail concerning husband Thiago Silva
Thiago Silva was in action for the Blues right from the first minute against Tottenham Hotspur. The 37-year-old played full 90 minutes in which he delivered 89% pass accuracy, 3 ground duels won, 2 aerial duels won and one chance created. However, an all-round performance from the powerful defender couldn’t help his team avoid dropping two points against a resilient Tottenham team.
The Brazilian’s wife, who was there to cheer her husband and his team noticed one minute detail at the Bridge. She went on to criticise the club for their behaviour taking it to Twitter. She wrote: “Today i went to stamford Bridge and i noticed that the photos changed around the stadium. But I don’t see a photo of @tsilva3 [Thiago Silva] anywhere. Why @ChelseaFC ?”
As evident, Belle was not happy with Chelsea snubbing her husband’s poster from the ones displayed at the stadium. This however, comes out as a surprise for everybody else since Silva has become one of the ‘poster boys’ at the West London club. He led them to a Champions League victory in his debut season itself, followed by a UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
It was unexpected from the Blues to omit him from their picture change at the Stamford Bridge. On the other hand, this is not the first time Silva’s wife has fired shots at Chelsea in favour of her husband. Back in April this year, she posted a video on Instagram smashing the commentators who criticised Thiago Silva as Chelsea lost 4-1 to Brentford at home.
The Blues were into their first game post the international break as Belle claimed in the video, “I’m here in my box at Stamford Bridge. I just listened back to the commentary right now and what the commentator said. ‘Thiago is not attacking enough.’ Respect him, please. Thiago Silva arrived yesterday as he played for Brazil. Thiago Silva is very tired, and he’s 37-years-old. He’s played since he was 20-years-old so respect to him. He’s not a machine, he’s human, so he needs to relax, alright.”
Thiago and Isabele da Silva, commonly known as Belle Silva have been married for almost two decades now as they tied the knot back in 2005. The couple have two kids, both boys named Isago da Silva and Iago da Silva. Belle is a social media influencer and a model by profession.
