Chelsea Plan Late Swoop For Serie-A Full-Back Who Is Available On The Cheap

The Premier League has been an interesting affair this season with clubs around the league playing out some surprising results already.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side have been the most consistent team in the league this season and they are currently strolling away to a second Premier League title in 3 years. They are currently at the top of the Premier League table, 8 points of Arsenal in the 2nd place and have a great chance of going all the way as they do not have any European distractions either this season.

The players have been superb whenever called upon but Conte has been desperately trying to improve the quality and the depth in the squad and has been linked with some big names in Europe.

One such player who is close to a move to the Bridge this month is Sead Kolasinac.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is currently playing as a left-back for German side Schalke, a club he joined back in 2011 from Stuttgart.

He has ever since cemented a place in the squad, making more than 80 appearances in the Bundesliga, but he is not happy with his situation at the club and is looking to manufacture a way out of the club.

He is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and Italian giants Juventus reportedly have a verbal agreement over a £4.2m deal with him for a move at the end of the season but Chelsea are now desperate for his signature.

Italian media outfit Calcio Mercato has now revealed that the Blues have opened official talks with the representative of the player and are ready to make a move for him before the deadline day.

The German outfit are determined to keep the defender at the club until the end of the season, especially after on-loan Chelsea star Baba Rahman picked up a season ending injury.

But it is understood that Chelsea are confident of landing the man in the next few days.

Having already played 17 games for the national side, Kolasinac is an experienced player at just 23 and is an exciting prospect in Europe.

Premier League outfit Liverpool were also linked with a  move for him in the summer but Chelsea are now set to pip Juventus to his signature this month.

Do you think Antonio Conte’s Chelsea is the right destination for the German-born full-back?
