Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close tab on Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel and are planning a £24million deal for signing the striker next summer. Dubbed as the ‘new Ronaldo’ (Brazilian), the Colombia international has turned heads with his impressive performances this term. He has already six seven goals and registered five assists in 14 appearances that have compelled the Blues to pursue him.
The highly-rated striker, who can also play on the right, was named as the Serie A’s Best Young Player in 2012.
Ever since taking charge of the Stamford Bridge outfit, Antonio Conte has been linked with defenders and midfielders only due to Diego Costa’s brilliant performance in front of the goal. But Italian news outlet Calciomercatoweb has reported that the former Juventus gaffer is thinking of bolstering his frontline and the Sampdoria striker has emerged as a prime target for him.
Meanwhile, Spanish news outlet Don Balon has claimed that the Italian tactician is so desperate to sign the striker that he has told the club to pay whatever it takes to bring him to London. The report claimed that the Blues will not wait for the summer window and are readying a bid in the upcoming January transfer window. It added that the although the Italian outfit is not willing to sell their player in January, they are willing to enter the negotiations if Chelsea can cough up a good fortune.
However,it will not be easy for the Blues to sign the striker as Serie A giants Napoli are also interested in the striker. La Liga outfit Valencia are also linked with the Colombian.
