Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has been given the green signal to make a big January signing by the club boss Roman Abramovich.

After the dramatic sacking of Jose Mourinho, the reins of Chelsea were yet again handed to Guus Hiddink and showing faith in the temporary boss, Roman Abramovich has given bragging rights to the Dutchman and is ready to splurge in January for a big signing. And given Chelsea’s current forward debacles, Jamie Vardy will be topping Hiddink’s shopping list.

Hiddink has the Russian’s total backing as the main priority of the Chelsea camp is to climb up the League table and that too pronto!

In the light of the recent club hisory Hiddink has taken a defensive approach saying that “Let’s go into the next few games and then we’ll see. We didn’t stipulate, but we know also that it’s always open. But first I like to embed a bit now in the first days and games, and then we’ll see what happens. It depends on the results”.

Apart from looking for solutions to their problems abroad, the former Dutch midfielder stressed on the need to look at the great young talent on the home front. A main drawback of the Mourinho regime at Chelsea was the lack of chances given to young players like Loftus Cheek and Charly Musonda. When talking to reporters Hiddink had said that “I have some time to give judgement to young players, but I’ll have them in the toughness of first-team training as soon as possible” and keeping up with his words, Charlie Colkett, Loftus Cheek, Mosunda and Kennedy trained with the first team during their training session that took place on Wednesday.
