According to latest reports, Chelsea are closing in on Monaco star Radamel Falcao for a season long loan deal. The 29-year old had a difficult season with Manchester United this season after scoring only 6 times in the entire season.

The Colombian striker is ready to take a massive wage cut to force a move to Chelsea this summer. The Red Devils have brought the player to Old Trafford for a season loan for a staggering £16m in total. That included a £6m one-off fee and £10m in wages.

Chelsea will look to get the player for a lesser wages than Manchester United as they could get the player for a discount after the Colombian’s miserable first season in Premier League.

The fact that both Falcao and Jose Mourinho share the same agent will be helpful for the deal to happen. Chelsea are looking for a new striker this summer as Didier Drogba will leave the Blues this summer as his contract expires. With Falcao keen to work under Jose Mourinho, the deal will favor Chelsea.

Considering the fact that Drogba leaving and the potential of Falcao would mean this would be a deal worth taking a risk.
