Revealed: Last message of Eden Hazard for outgoing Jose Mourinho

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed that he sent an apology to Jose Mourinho after the latter was sacked earlier this season. One can argue that Hazard does owe Mourinho an apology after his performances this season. Chelsea dominated the Premier League last season and much of that was due to Hazard’s incredible on-field displays but this season Hazard has been a pale shadow of his former self (perhaps not even that). Hazard has scored 0 goals this season, ZERO! as opposed to the 14 he scored in the Premier League last season.
Chelsea had a horrid start to the season and Mourinho gave every excuse he could for Chelsea’s failures but the real reason was his under-performing players. From Fabregas to Costa, every player seemed to betray his manager and the inevitable soon happened. Mourinho was sacked after just 16 Premier League games.

Hazard was prematurely substituted in Mourinho’s farewell game and the ex-Chelsea boss claimed that it was the Belgian who took the decision to go off himself.
“I don’t know what is wrong,” Mourinho said. “The only thing I know is that within 10 seconds he made the decision himself. He came off and said straight away he couldn’t do it. Then he tried and immediately he came back off. He made the decision to come off. So it must be a serious injury. “His first reaction was ‘I can’t continue’, his second reaction was ‘I want to try’, but after his first step back on the pitch he said he couldn’t. He’s injured clearly.”

Eden Hazard has now revealed that he has apologised to Jose Mourinho because he feels guilty for Mourinho’s ouster “I sent him the message to say I was sorry he had gone and … well … just that I was sorry,” We’d enjoyed all that success together last season, but this time round we hadn’t. I felt a little bit guilty because I’d been player of the year. I’d been one of the most decisive players, and this year I’d performed less well.

“I hadn’t been at the same level. So I sent that text to José and he came back to me, wishing me all the best for the future. For a team of champions to go through what we have this year even I can’t explain. Things have been better recently, but we’re still not winning games quite as we used to. No one can put his finger on what’s happened at Chelsea.”

Maybe this will improve his relationship with the Chelsea fans who have held him as one of the main culprits for Mourinho’s dismissal. After his sacking, Hazard was called “snake” and “rat” but after a string of decent results under new manager Guus Hiddink, the Chelsea fans are now fully behind their players.

Hazard, though, would be hoping that he has finally found his goalscoring touch back after he was on the scoresheet against MK Dons and Hazard has admitted that it was a “relief” for him to score. “I’d played some very good games, at Manchester United, at Tottenham Hotspur, but they’d lacked a goal. There’ve been times when I could have scored myself, but I’ve played a pass to a team-mate instead. It never became an obsession for me to score at all costs. I’ve always said that I’m not a big scorer, I’m a worker. But you can’t escape you’ve not scored and it’s already January, so last Sunday was a bit of a relief.

“I don’t think my morale was down, but it plays on your mind a bit. Everything went so well in the past. This year, not so much. But you have to tell yourself that football is like that. I’ve had more ups than downs in my career. All you can do is keep working. You still have to take enjoyment out of what you’re doing and things will turn, and my smile has always been there. “
