Massive: Chelsea Fan Favourite Can Make A Shock Man United Move!!
Former Chelsea manager Ray Wilkins has said that Chelsea skipper John Terry can make a sensational move to bitter rivals Manchester United if he does not get maximum playing time in the first team.
After recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained in the Blues 2-2 stalemate against Swansea City on September 11, the veteran defender has struggled to win back his place in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven which has raised lots of questions about his future at the Stamford Bridge.
Although the 35-year old signed a one-year contract extension at the beginning of this season amid claims that he might leave the club, his days at the club is looking numbered as he currently does not feature in Antonio Conte’s plan.
After a slight slump in form, the Blues have hit the top gear and are looking unstoppable right now. They have won their last five Premier League games and it is highly unlikely that the former Juventus manager will disrupt the winning combination. Conte’s men have not conceded a single goal in their last 5 matches, and it is very much expected that Gary Cahill and David Luiz will start at the heart of defence again. Moreover, Kurt Zouma is nearing a return from injury which is certain to make Terry’s return to starting eleven, even more tough.
The 35-year old was linked with a move to cash-rich Chinese Super League, but Wilkins said that a move to China will not be on Chelsea star’s mind. Instead, he said that someone at United might be interested in securing his services. He was probably referring to United boss Jose Mourinho who had a good rapport with Terry during his time with the Blues.
“I couldn’t agree more (that Terry will snub China move),” Wilkins said on talkSPORT. “I don’t think China will be on John’s radar.
“What about Old Trafford? He’s not playing for Chelsea but I think he still has plenty to offer.
“There will be someone out there who would love to have him.”
