Xabi Alonso to effect Chelsea plans:
The former Liverpool man who is enjoying a successful stint at Bayern at the moment has today revealed that he retiring from the sport as a player at the end of the season.
This news has no direct effect on the Blues but they might now miss out on their top transfer target from PSG. Marco Verratti, who is ready to leave Paris at the end of the season was expected to choose Chelsea but with Alonso gone, Bayern are in pole position to sign him up this summer. (Bild)
