Chelsea Transfer Shock: Winger Turns Down Huge Offer For China Move
Jonathan Biabiany has turned down a loan move to Chelsea in favour of a move to China, according to reports.
Biabiany joined Inter Milan in 2015 from Parma but he has since fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro. The 28-year-old has made just three Europa League appearances for Inter this term.
And Chelsea had reportedly made a loan bid to take the winger to Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the season. However, according to Sky Sports Italia, Biabiany has rejected the opportunity to join the Blues. The report says Inter were not standing in the way of the Frenchman but he did not want to go on loan.
He is said to have concerns about his role in the team and did not feel he would be part of Antonio Conte’s plans. And he will instead seek a big-money move to the Chinese Super League.
Biabiany is renowned for his pace and plays predominantly on the right wing or right side of midfield. He is under contract with Inter until June 2019 and has made 49 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring just two goals.
The Blues have yet to make a signing this month with the only arrival the return of Nathan Ake from his Bournemouth loan spell.
But it could be a busy last few hours of the transfer window with Antonio Conte keen on some last minute shopping.
He wants a new goalkeeper so he can allow Asmir Begovic to leave, a striker, a defender and a winger – and has begun talks over players for all those positions.
“Sky Sources are telling us that Chelsea are interested in Moussa Dembele,” Bolton said on Sky Sports.
“He signed for Celtic in the summer from Fulham, we gather though that Celtic would not consider any bid that was below £40million.
“The other Celtic player that Chelsea are interested in is Craig Gordon. They’ve had two bids but have failed to get him.
“Brendan Rodgers says he’s staying at Parkhead and wants him to sign a new deal.
“Chelsea are looking for a goalkeeper particularly because then they can allow Asmir Begovic to leave and join Bournemouth.
“If they can get that done that would be good, but my understanding is that Begovic is currently with the Chelsea squad who are up in the north west of England for tonight’s match with Liverpool at Anfield.
“There is money available for Chelsea to spend having sold Oscar and Patrick Bamford.
“We’re told Chelsea have had talks with Schalke about left back Sead Kolasinac but Schalke are not selling. They’ve also spoken with Inter Milan about a possible loan for winger Jonathan Biabiany and we’ll see what happens with those.
“One player definitely out though is Branislav Ivanovic. He’s currently on a plane to Russia to complete his move to St Petersburg.”
