Chelsea FC all of sudden have entered the transfer market with a great energy it seems as they have already hijacked Manchester United’s move for Pedro and are on the verge of signing the Barcelona winger.

After the Pedro’s deal got confirmed Chelsea now has shown interest in signing highly-rated French youngster Paul Pogba from Juventus this summer. Several clubs including Pogba’s first club Manchester United were linked with Pogba this summer but Juventus stood firm on their ground and tagged the player for €100 million.

According to English media, Chelsea are keen on offering out of favour midfielder Juan Cuadrado and cash to Juventus to bring home the talented midfielder Paul Pogba. Chelsea have several attacking midfielders in their squad and the addition of Pedro will bolster their attacking options. But one thing they lack is the presence of quality deep lying midfielders. Cesc Fabregas who joined the club last summer from Barcelona has been out of form this season so far. His performance has been below par and he is failing to live up to the expectation. Nemanja Matic is the only proper defensive midfielder they have in the squad. Thus, Pogba’s addition would be a huge boost for the club and his presence would keep Fabregas at bay.

According to Sky ItaliaJuventus’ Beppe Marotta, the director of the club, has shown interest in signing Juan Cuadrado. He was quoted: “Cuadrado? Perhaps he could be on the market this summer.

“The characteristics we are looking for are different, but there are 10 days to cover the gap we’ve got in midfield. We’ll see what happens.”

The Old Lady is keen on getting the ex-Fiorentina midfielder, but they might go for loan deal instead of a permanent one.

Marotta further claimed that they are not looking to sell their star player Paul Pogba who has been given the iconic number 10 shirt this season.

Pogba was also quoted where he said: “I will play wherever the Coach wants me to. If I can help the team, then I always want to do that.”

Juventus have already sold Arturo Vidal this summer to Bayern Munich and legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo left the club to join MLS city New York City FC. In the absence of two crucial central midfielders, it is highly unlikely that they would further sell Paul Pogba in the same window.

Jose Mourinho will have to increase his bid by a huge margin if he actually wants Pogba at Stamford Bridge this season.
